Ángel Luis Juarbe, Jr. (May 1, 1966 – September 11, 2001) was a New York City firefighter who won the 2001 reality TV game show Murder in Small Town X, which was broadcast during the summer of 2001, the last episode airing on September 4, 2001. Juarbe was killed during the September 11, 2001 attacks exactly one week after the final episode was aired; he was one of the firefighters who died in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.[1][2] Before the disaster he had posed for a yearly FDNY calendar which was only published after the event. At the request of the families, he was one of three deceased firefighters whose image remained in the calendar, which was dedicated to their memories.

Murder in Small Town X

Ángel was one of ten amateur investigators. He has been praised by many of the fellow investigators for doing an outstanding job during the course of the show. However, he is notable to have clashed with model Jeff Monroe. Ángel voted against Jeff once and had sent Jeff off to play the Killer's Game twice as the Lifeguard. Jeff was later eliminated in the finale. Ángel had suspected suspect William Lambert to be the killer since the beginning, but chose suspect Frank Kovick as the killer in the finale. The other finalist, Alan Frye, also chose Frank. Jeff broke the tie by letting Alan pursue Frank, leaving Ángel to pursue William. However, it turned out William was the killer, and Ángel won the game. It should be noted that when asked to change his mind, Ángel commented he wanted to say "Yes!" and choose William, but his decided against it. Ángel is the only investigator to never have a vote cast against him, to never be sent to play the Killer's Game, and be the Lifeguard more than once.
