Radical 1 (⼀ Unicode U+2F00, pinyin meaning "one") is one of only six radicals (of 214 total) Kangxi radicals that are composed of only one stroke.

In the Kangxi Dictionary there are only 42 characters (out of 40 000) to be found under this radical.

Radical 1, in this case known as 橫 héng "horizontal", is one of the eight principles of the character (永字八法 Yǒngzì Bāfǎ) which are the basis of Chinese calligraphy.
