100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time was a
five part mini-series produced by the American television
network Comedy
Central, which aired from April 12 to April 16, 2004. The special showed clips from 20 esteemed
comedians each night and included a round tablepanel with five comedians. Some critics believe this
list is biased towards modern comedians or American comedians,
overly politically correct, and/or aimed to
sell Comedy Central DVDs. The narrator was Richard Belzer.
The top comic named was
Richard
Pryor, who died a year later.
