== The House ==
1110 Vilas Avenue has been the humble home to
five interesting young ladies since August 15, 2006. The girls have
transformed this old house into a warm, inviting home open to many.
The house has four bedrooms, 1.5 newly-remodeled bathrooms, a large
kitchen with two refrigerators, a cozy living room, a spacious
full-sized basement with washer and dryer, and two porches. All of
the rooms came with unique, bold colors and beautiful woodwork.
This house is a potentially historical landmark as there has been
rumors that the brick-laid back room of the basement was used as
one of the final stops in the
underground railroad for slaves to
escape to Canada. Speaking of Canada, former UW-Madison hockey
legend,
Robbie
Earl recently abandoned the UW Badgers to play for the
Toronto Maple Leafs. The house was
originally owned by Greenbush Properties, but was sold to Brian
Wilson and Kari Livingston in the Spring of 2006. This transfer of
ownership led to several discrepencies between the new leasers and
the landlords. Thankfully, everything is getting worked
out.
The Location
1110 Vilas is located in a very
convenient part of Madison. It is not far from UW-Madison and in a
quiet neighborhood comprised of college students, faculy members,
and families. It is only a jump, hop, and a skip away from the
Henry Vilas
Zoo. The Henry Vilas Zoo has a wide variety of animals and
continues to be the largest free zoo in Wisconsin. Another
attraction is Brittingham Park located on Lake Menona. The Vilas
neighborhood is close to Regent Street, home of several fun bars,
McDonald's,
Taco John's,
Greenbush Bakery, Hong Kong Cafe,
Rocky Rococo, and Budget Bicycle Center
(employer of the recreational cyclist Sam Weis). For those who feel
guilty about spending their time on Regent Street, 1110 Vilas is
conveniently located across the street from Trinity United
Methodist (Primera Iglesia Hispana Metodista Unida) Church.

attented
Luther College in Decorah, IA. Luther College
is not far from the Decorah Chick Hatchery, home of the quality
chick! After one semester at Luther, which seemed like five years,
Amy transferred to UW-Marshfield Wood County. This was in
preparation for Amy's big move to UW-Madison where she is currently
a junior majoring in Elementary Education and Geography. She is
employed at the CIMC Library as a cirrculation desk specialist. She
is a member of the U-Band and plays the french horn. In her spare
time, she enjoys scrapbooking, shopping, the beach, and spending
time with her long-term boyfriend, Nick P. Guldan. Nick is a member
of 1110 Vilas' "brother house" which is located at 111 S. Randall
Street. Nick and his roommates, Grant Duchac, Adam Olson, Andrew
Olson, and Ryan VandeZande, throw sweet pre-game parties on Badger
Game Days. Some of their favorite activities include playing video
games, watching

Independence Day Parade complete with every local sanitation unit,
dump truck, tow truck, fire truck, and any other non-float type
float that you could think of. Amy attended Peter Pan Preschool at
Faith Lutheran Church and Forest View Elementary School. Amy
attended two different junior high schools. She went to Central
Junior High for two years and then the building was "condemmed" and
she moved to the new Century Junior High, home of the quarter of a
mile long hallway. (It turns out that the building wasn't actually
condemmed, but used to house CLC, ALC, monossori, and preschool.)
She then attended Forest Lake Area High School. After high school,
she was accepted into UW-Madison where she is now a junior
currently majoring in political science and international studies.
