The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Columbia(RCSCC Columbia) formed in the fall of 1959 and named in honour of HMCS Columbia.

The motto of HMCS Columbia is Floreat Columbia Ubique, which translated means, "May the Columbia Flourish Forever."

RCSCC Columbia held its first annual inspection in December of 1959 at Canadian Forces Station Aldergrove. The first Commanding Officer was Lt (N) Thomson DSM with Petty Officer Potts as the senior cadet.

RCSCC Columbia continues to parade today. Not in the same buildings but still on the original site of the Canadian Forces Station Aldergrove, now known as the Naval Radio Site Aldergrove.

The RCSCC parades every Tuesday night of the school year between 1830 and 2130
