16 is an upcoming Tamil romance film written and directed by Saba Rathinam, who earlier directed films like V.I.P (1997), Punnagai Poove (2003) and A Aa E Ee (2009), that stars RJ-turned-actor 'Mirchi' Shiva of Chennai 600028 and Saroja fame and newcomer Madhu Shalini in lead and another RJ, percussionist 'Darbuka' Siva in a supporting role. The film, which was launched in October 2008, is currently in its production stage and will be released for Valentine's Day 2010.[1]

Music

Music will be scored by ace music director and close friend of 'Mirchi' Siva, Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is supposed to have four songs, out of which, one will be sung Yuvan Shankar's brother, Karthik Raja.[2][3]

Filming

The film was officially launched on 15 October 2008 at the office of the production company, Passion Movie Makers, who are stepping into Film production with this film.[4]

The first schedule of film shooting started on 3 November 2008, when scenes involving 'Mirchi' Shiva, 'Darbuka' Siva and heroine Madhu Shalini were shot in East Coast Road in Tamil Nadu.[5] Subsequently, shooting was held in various places including Chennai, Ooty and Kodaikanal.[2][6]
