9 July - The Malaysia Agreement is signed between leaders of
Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak.
12 July - The Pulau Senang prison riots breaks out, with four
prison officers killed by rioting prisoners. The unprecedently
large court proceedings which followed sentenced 18 to death.
31 August - On this Malaysia Solidarity Day, Lee Kuan Yew declares
the Independence for Singapore from the British.
16 September -- Malaysia is formed. Indonesia carries out its konfrontasi campaign.
