ABA Dispersal Draft

The American Basketball Association and NBA joined in the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. Of the teams remaining in the ABA, four joined the NBA. All other ABA teams had been folded prior to the league merger except for the Kentucky Colonels and the Spirits of St. Louis; those two franchises were folded as part of the merger, and each had their players assigned to a dispersal draft for draft purposes.
