1982 is the year before the video game crash. Also, it marked the first year of Atari's unpopularity (It produced two unpopular games called E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man). Two primary game systems, the Atari 5200 and the ColecoVision, were released that year.
