The 1990 European Cup Final was a football match between A.C. Milan of Italy and S.L. Benfica of Portugal, played on 23 May 1990 at the Praterstadion in Vienna, Austria. The winning goal came in the 68th minute for AC Milan when Marco van Basten passed the ball to Alberigo Evani who slotted it to Rijkaard, hen ran through the defense and scored.

As of 2009, Milan are the last side to have defended the trophy after winning it the previous season.
