Top–grossing films

Please note that following the tradition of the English-language film industry, these are the top grossing films that were first released in the United States in 2005. The top ten films of 2005, by worldwide gross in US$, as well as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia grosses, are as follows:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire grossed more than $890 million, making it the thirteenth-highest-grossing film in history. Three other films, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and War of the Worlds, are also in the list of the fifty highest-grossing films.
