Tiffany Adler (born 1987 or 1986) is a woman who at age twenty (in 2007) has become notorious for allegedly committing a homophobic hate crime of assault and harassment in Pacifica, California where she has been arraigned on charges of misdemeanor hate crimes and battery for throwing apples, asparagus, and other produce, from the passenger seat a van, at a gay couple which frequents the grocery store where she is also employed while they were walking down the street, the vehicle then reportedly drove off. Afterwards Adler reportedly then returned to the site at which point she yelled several anti-gay slurs, including, "faggot". The site of the incidant is located along 500 block of Esplanade Drive in Pacifica a San Francisco beachtown suburb. She has plead not guilty to the charges and will be tried by jury in the summer of 2007 in South San Francisco the headquarters of the San Mateo County Superior Court. In the meantime Adler has been released on her own recognizance. The San Mateo County District Attorney's office reports having found asparagus in her purse at the time of her arrest.

In her defense Adler claims that she was unaware of the victims' sexual orientation and that the reason she attacked the men was because of a previous conflict they had at the grocery store; it has also been reported Adler has stated that she mistook them for people she had a previous conflict with, however the chief Deputy DA Steve Wagstaffe refutes this stating that it is the office's position that the incident, "is defiantly a hate crime [and that] this one is pretty offensive." If Adler is convicted of all the charges she may be sentances to a jail term and receive probation.
