The 2009–10 Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team represents the University of Louisville Cardinals in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team is coached by Rick Pitino in his ninth year at the school.[2] Louisville is a member of the Big East Conference. 2009–10 will be Louisville's final year playing in Freedom Hall, starting in fall 2010 the team is expected to play its home games in a new downtown arena.

The University of Louisville men's basketball team played their final game at Freedom Hall on March 6, 2010 against Syracuse University, the #1 ranked team in the nation. Louisville won 78 to 68. (Note: Louisville defeated Notre Dame 85-75 in their first-ever game at Freedom Hall in 1956)
