The 2010 January 17th Drake Passage earthquake occured along the Shackleton Fracture Zone, a strike slip fault. The hypocenter depht was estimated at 5 km. The earthquake was felt in the Cape Horn lighthouse and the Diego Ramirez Islands wich are the two closest inhabited places. As typical for a strike slip earthquake, no tsunami was generated.
