The 2012 Conference is a North American multigenre convention, held in San Francisco, California. Astrologers, UFO fans, shamans and New Age entrepreneurs use the conference to present their ideas through lectures, group meditations, documentaries and self-promotion.[1][2] The 2012 Conference is dominated by the ideology of Mayanism, a non-codified collection of New Age beliefs that originated in re-interpretations of ancient Maya culture and 19th century spiritualism. It adds to this contemporary counter-culture advocacy of entheogen use as a pathway to mysticism and superior spirituality.
Stated Mission
The mission of the 2012 Conference, as stated directly by its organizers, is "...to take the subject matter of 2012 and the leading authors of this evolving movement to a higher level of awareness and to bring together a community embracing the magnitude of the subject discerning facts and fallacies."[3]
