The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer (commonly referred to as the "3DO") was made in a line of systems by The 3DO Company. It was supposed to be one of the greatest systems of its time, but since it was priced at $699.95, not very many people bought it.

The 3DO was very high-tech for its time. It could play 3DO games, audio CDs, picture CDs, video CDs, and could play with 8 controllers at the same time (with an adapter). Although it was so high tech, barely any games could register the full potential of the system. Even at those terms, some games became very popular, like The Need for Speed and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

The 3DO is a video game console created by a company of the same name. The console was released in 1993 and was the main project for Trip Hawkins after his departure from EA in 1991. It was hated for its FMVs, lack of a lock out chip, and expensive price.

Simple English

3DO is the name of the video game consoles made by the 3DO company. They were released in 1993 and 1994. Its features were very ahead of its time. The 3DO was one of the worst-selling consoles in history because it was very expensive and other companies had cheaper systems. It was also not advertised very well, so no one knew about it. Some of the best games for it are Alone in the Dark and Myst. The 3DO company also wanted to make another console called the M2, but it never was sold.
