3OH!3 (pronounced "three-oh-three") is an electronica group from Boulder, Colorado formed in 2004 named after the 303 area code,[1] which includes Boulder as well as the Denver metropolitan area.[2]. The band is best known for their hit single "Don't Trust Me", which reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their second single, "Starstrukk" featuring Katy Perry, was a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland and Australia.

In 2010, they were featured on the song "Blah Blah Blah", performed by Kesha. It was released as the second single from her debut album, Animal.


The Band

3OH!3 consists of Sean Foreman, born August 27, 1985 (age 24)[3] and Nathaniel Motte, born January 13, 1985 (age 25)[4]; both of whom are natives of Boulder, Colorado.[5] The pair met in a physics class while attending the University of Colorado. 3OH!3 is also known for their hand sign, referenced in their song "Holler 'til You Pass Out", performed by touching two thumbs and forefingers. This is frequently seen at concerts.] .

After playing in Denver during the Warped Tour 2008, 3OH!3 signed on for all venues of Warped Tour 2008, and their song, "Crazy Asshole Chikz", is featured on the Warped Tour 2008 Tour Compilation. The band had sung a birthday song sent out to Dana Merrick, requested by Jaime Wescoup, at their concert in B.C at venues such as, Bamboozle Left.[6] The band later headlined the 2009 Alternative Press Tour across the U.S. with Family Force 5, The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, and Hit The Lights. The band contributed an original theme song titled "Sex on the Beach" for MTV's The Real World: Cancun.[7] The band performed in Panama City Beach, Florida for MTVU's Spring Break in March 2009, which they opened for upcoming rapper Sid Hyet. In summer 2009 they also appeared at the Reading/Leeds festivals in the Uk.

3OH!3 joined the Warped Tour once again in 2009. During the tour, they were accompanied by Kamtin Mohager of The Chain Gang Of 1974 playing live bass. 3OH!3 also played at EndFest in Sacramento CA with such acts as The White Tie Affair and was also a part of Kiss Concert '09 (Kiss 108) at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. The band also played at Kiss The Summer Hello 2009 @ Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY, June 3, 2009, along with Kevin Rudolf, The White Tie Affair, The John Girlss, The Ting Tings, & Elliott Yamin.

3OH!3 wrote an anthem for Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies. The music video was shot at the Ogden Theater in Denver and airs during broadcasts on FSN Rocky Mountain.

3OH!3's second album on Photo Finish Records, Want, was released on July 8, 2008. It reached #44 on the Billboard 200.[8] "Don't Trust Me" has been controversial, as some have accused the band of misogyny.[9]

The music video for "Holler Til You Pass Out" takes place at Mesa Elementary and Fairview High School in Boulder.[citation needed] The music video for "Starstrukk" has been released on the band's MySpace and Facebook pages, as well as YouTube and several other networking sites. On their official Twitter(Nat - NAT3OH3, Sean - kidquizine) , they announced that they are planning to record a song with Lil Jon. On the Warped Tour 2009 and before, they performed a new song called "Hit It Again", which is about wanting another chance with a girl.

In May 2009, they created a remix of Family Force 5's single "Get Your Back Off The Wall", for the album Dance or Die With A Vengeance.

On the July 15th, 2009 stop of the Vans Warped Tour in Scranton, PA Sean injured his leg while on stage and needed stitches. The band was scheduled to sign at the Music Saves Lives booth that day and only Nat was able to attend. On the July 18, 2009 stop of Warped Tour in Uniondale, New York, they were joined by Lil Jon on stage to perform with them. On August 28, 2009, they released a remix of their second single, "Starstrukk", featuring Katy Perry on their MySpace page. The song was released on iTunes on September 8, 2009.[10]

They are also featured on the Kesha song "Blah Blah Blah".

They are currently recording their 3rd Studio Album called "Streets of Gold" it is due out June 29th. A song recently leaked titled "Hey" featuring Lil Jon. There is no confirmation that this is their next single.

On February 5, 2010 it was announced that Cobra Starship and 3OH!3 would be embarking on a co-headlining tour called The Too Fast For Love Tour, opening acts are Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes's side project Travie McCoy and The Lazarus Project and I Fight Dragons. The tour will run from April 28 in Milwaukee, WI, until June 11 in Philadelphia, PA.

They have also worked with Lisa D'Amato of America's Next Top Model.

The two will also be supporting All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Third Eye Blind, and LMFAO on The Bamboozle Roadshow 2010. Along with numerous other supporting acts, including Good Charlotte, Forever The Sickest Kids, Cartel, and Simple Plan.

Appearances in popular culture

Advertisements for the show Candy Girls use the song "Starstrukk".

The band was featured in a 14-page photo spread in Cliché Magazine's "Green Issue" (August 2009), photographed by Dirk Mai.[11]

In the television show The Hills, episode #61 entitled "You'll Never Have This", uses the song "Don't Trust Me".

Also, in the television series The Vampire Diaries, episode #3, entitled "Friday Night Bites", uses the song "Starstrukk".

The song "Starstrukk" is used during a preview of the movie "Couples Retreat" starring Vince Vaughn.

The "Starstrukk" remix with Katy Perry is in both the trailer and beginning of the movie When in Rome.

A new song, "Follow Me Down" (featuring Neon Hitch) was written for the compilation album for the Tim Burton Disney film Alice in Wonderland, "Almost Alice".
