The 4700th Air Defense Group is an inactive United States Air Force organization. Its last assignment was with the 4707th Air Defense Wing, being stationed at Stewart Air Force Base, New York. It was inactivated on 18 Aug 1955

4400th ABG formed as host base unit at Stewart under First Air Force. Base reassigned to Air Defense Command on 1 Dec 1950 and unit redesignated and realigned as an Air Defense unit, being upgraded to operational Air Defense Group in 1954 when fighter operations at Mitchel Field were terminated.

Performed Air Defense of New York City area and southeastern New York and Connetiicut, 1954-1955.

Inactivated and redesignated 329th Fighter Group (Air Defense)
