The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation provides
scholarship assistance to over 225 male and female UNC Charlotte
student-athletes participating in 16 varsity sports. Established in
1969, the organization has developed into a vitally important
support group for the Athletic Department, pursuing excellence,
integrity and pride in the University's athletic program.
The
49er Club, the Foundation's official booster
organization, offers membership to both individuals and
businesses.
The foundation's major fundraising events include
the Annual Great Gold Rush Auction and the Annual 49er Club Golf
Outing. The Great Gold Rush Auction raised over $200,000 in 2005, a
first for the event.
