Grabowsky (ISBN 1-57306-277-4) and is published by Bess Press. The
book describes 10 environmental challenges facing
Hawaii: the loss of pristine places;

waste management; hazardous waste management; water consumption;
energy; pollution; global warming; and the loss of culture.

Dr.
Grabowsky (PhD in botany - Duke University) is Director of
Environmental Studies at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii
and serves on the Hawaii State Environmental Council. She is also a
longstanding member of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands National
Monument (formely the CORAL REEF ECOSYSTEM RESERVE) Advisory
Counsil. In 1994, Dr. Grabowsky (by her married name, Gail L.
Grabowsky Kaaialii) starred in the PBS documentary, "The Shape of
Life"
