The 518th Air Defense Group is an inactive United States Air Force organization. Its last assignment was with the 4708th Air Defense Wing, being stationed at Niagara Falls Municipal Airport, New York. It was inactivated on 18 Aug 1955.

Operations

Provided air defense of Niagara Falls, Toronto, Western and upper New York area. Replaced 56th Fighter Wing (Air Defense) as on-base host unit at Niagara Falls Municipal Airport (56th FW was at Selfridge AFB, Michigan). Was replaced by activation of 15th Fighter Group (Air Defense) as part of ADC heritage program to reactivate notable wartime units.
