55 Bar is a jazz club in Greenwich Village, New York City (Manhattan). Founded and in continuous operation since 1918, the club started with a walk-in jam session in the 1980s and switched to an all-jazz format when Ms. Queva Lutz took the room over in 2001.

A funky dive bar from prohibition days, the 55's heart is jazz and its soul is the blues. Incredible musicians rock the house nightly with some of the most innovative playing in NYC. Watch musical legends checking out the newcomers and veteran barflies chatting up first timers. A cool staff with no attitude and $3-$15 cover make this a true village hangout.
