Activated replacing 325th Fighter-Interceptor Group, absorbing all personnel, equipment and responsibilities of the unit. Mission to Train and maintain tactical flying units in state of readiness in order to defend Northwest United States.

An Air Defense Command program to reactivate historic Groups and Squadrons named "Project Arrow" resulted in the 567th ADG being redesignated as the 325th Fighter Group (Air Defense), 18 Aug 1955
