6 Billion is a deliberately optimistic boardgame of space advocacy depicting human expansion in the Solar System. It was created by David Coutts in Australia.

The underlying premise for the game is that human populations will tend to grow exponentially, and that there is a lot of room in [outer space] and very little room on Earth. Whereas exponential growth of human populations causes overpopulation if restricted to Earth, in space human populations capable of repeated population doubling will ensure the long-term survival of the human species and will lead to the spreading of Earth-based life throughout the galaxy.

The name of the game is taken from the United Nations Population Fund Day Of 6 Billion (12th October, 1999), which is the day that our global human population officially reached 6 billion. The game was inspired by Marshall Savage's book The Millennial Project: Colonizing the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps.
