The 7th Altrincham Boys Brigade Company was founded in
1933, it is part of the North West District and in the
Manchester Battalion.
The 7th is typically one of the largest companies in the area.
There are many traditions in the 7th, most of which revolve around the annual Camp.
Camp
This is an annual typically in late July, many traditions are associated with it, most notably:
The Billy Moss Challenge Silver Welly The Good Egg Cup Night GameThe Billy Moss Challenge
This award was named after the infamous William Henry Moss, a welfare officer in the early days of the company, who soon became well known for being lackadaisical.
In his name this award was created and is awarded to the boy who is voted to have been most comparable to "Billy Moss" over the course of the Camp.
For each nomination a case has to be put forward then at the end the boys choose the "winner".
The actual "trophy" takes the shape of a toilet seat with all the past "winners" names on the back.
There is a song that is sung by all attending and with each winner having their own verse that documents that year, the chourus is like this:
Song
Oh and it Billy Moss,<br>

He's by far the greatest welfare the world has ever seen"Winners"
