The American Basketball Association Playoffs Most Valuable Player Award was presented to the player who has exhibited exceptional play during an series. The award typically goes to a player on the winning team, it was first awarded to Connie Hawkins in 1968 when his Pittsburgh Pipers won against the New Orleans Buccaneers. Every year a player on the team winning the American Basketball Association championship won the award.
