History

ADERANT was formed in 2004, when Solution 6 Holdings, an Australian accounting software company, divested itself of its professional and enterprise division. The spun-off division was purchased by Francisco Partners, a U.S. investment firm specializing in technology companies. The divestiture took place in conjunction with Solution 6's merger with MYOB, another Australian accounting software company.

Despite the short life of the present company, it has existed for over 25 years in previous incarnations. Its CMS product started as a stand-alone software product owned by CMS/Data Corporation, which was founded in 1979. CMS/Data was purchased by PC DOCS Group International. PC DOCS was acquired by Hummingbird Communications Ltd. (now just Hummingbird Ltd.) in 1999.
