“All India Documentary Film makers Association” (ADFA) is a
non-profit professional and advocacy organization dedicated to
support the art of independent documentary filmmaking and film
makers in India. It is a group effort by few media personalities to
empower, promote, nurture, and mentor students, amateur film makers
and the film fraternity. This endeavor is a tribute to the society
that has always stood by these founders and cheered them to achieve
glory. Documentary films unlike their commercial counterparts are
not just entertainers. They are the torchbearers of the society.
They reflect the true picture and are informative, thematic and a
conscious effort to make things better in life. Though a vital part
of the mainstream media, documentaries are often closed affairs,
catering to a certain class or community. These films do not reach
the masses, for which they are made and so remain unrecognized and
appreciated by few! A filmmaker’s dream of acclaiming success by
reaching the common man remains unfulfilled. Today, Documentary
filmmaking has achieved new heights; India and its numerous aspects
have been beautifully conceptualized and carefully captured,
freezed in their frames but where is the avenue to open them for
the public? ADFA is the platform. Its purpose is to help the
documentary making industry through a network of valuable contacts,
events, and programs and its mission is to establish the film
makers before the masses and make their film a mass event, help
them in career development and support. Achieve your highest
potential through a network of valued contacts, educational
programs, and exciting events. ADFA will increase your visibility
and recognize your achievements in the industry. Subscribers are
encouraged to become an integral part of the ADFA community by
participating in our events and programs as a member and as a
volunteer, a teacher, or a mentor.
