The Complete AFI Series is one of the premier AFI fan sites on the Web. With its own message board, discography, lyrig guide, set list and tour poster colletion, artwork gallery, dissection of the band's short film, Clandestine, and exclusive AFI videos, the website is truly a great source for any AFI fan.

It was originally started by Alli and ixnay. The latter currently is no longer a part of the website itself, but has an integral role in the running of the forums.

History

AFISeries formed through a slow progression and dedication. "ixnay" originally began the community Liberty Lyrics, which contained a discography section for AFI, as well as a set list and tour poster guide. The tour poster guide was used on AFI's Official Fanclub website, the Despair Faction, for a competition, where the winner received a copy of Eddie's Picnic's All Wet (1994). Following the discography's large success on the Official AFI Message Board, the website was expanded to allow for trade and sharing of bootlegs. Here is where Alli came into the community, by offering to help contribute. An IRC channel was formed for the bootlegs, of which she became a moderator. "ixnay" and Alli continued to work together, developing a dissection of AFI's short film, Clandestine. From there, a new domain was purchased - AFIseries.com and AFIvideos.com. Though the community and dedication towards keeping AFI's history alive through the sharing of bootlegs is not new, the website is only a couple of years old. AFISeries.com was launched January 1, 2005. <ref>http://www.afiseries.com/features.php?f=articles&id=110</ref>

Current

AFISeries is expanding to include more features, including new interviews, and members of the community are anxiously awaiting the launch of a new and improved website. The discography section is also being revised, with the hopeful addition of older unknown releases.

Honda Racing F1

AFI series is currently doing their part in helping Honda Racing F1's global awareness campaign by pledging to accomplish eco-friendly goals, such as sharing your car or using a bicycle instead of a car. They encourage all members of the board to help out with this cause in hopes of raising awareness of the planet.

The post made to the board by ixnay :
<blockquote>
On the 26th February 2007, Honda released its new global awareness campaign through its Formula One racing team. AFI Series was quick to spot the environmental push that Honda are making in a motorsport category that often does not address the issues of the environment publicly and has pledged its support of the team with donations and pledges. In return, www.afiseries.com will occupy the Front Wing, Monocoque, Left Side Pod, and Right Side Pod of the RA-107, Honda's 2007 F1 World Championship challenger.

We believe that this opportunity will help raise awareness for the environment and fits in with the goals and attitudes of AFI Series. Having adopted Green Sea Turtles in Canada to monetary donations to various charitable organizations around the world, we are happy to try something ground breaking and different. Other companies and individuals that have also pledged their support with Honda Racing include Universal Music (owners of Interscope records that AFI is signed to), Gatorade, Fila, IBM, Instron, Oliver Sweeney, Perkin Elmer, Showa Denko, TUV and GF Agie Charmilles as team partners or suppliers.

To help the cause AFI Series would like to encourage all members of the AFI community to help become more aware of the natural world and the impact we are having towards it. We wish for you to pledge a goal as seen in the poll above. This is entirely free to you. Needless to say, please select an activity that you do not ALREADY do. We would appreciate it if you could make your pledge last through the entire 2007 year, and hopefully make it a permanent activity in your life for the years ahead. If you wish to pledge more than one activity, then please do so. It will help make a difference.

On behalf of AFI Series, Honda, and The World - we thank you for your help!

  • Myline

From the site itself has spawned a beloved stuffed turtle named Myline, who is currently being passed around the world to different fans, either by meeting to directly pass off the turtle, or through delivering it by mail. Each member keeps a photojournal of activities with Myline in different landmarks of the city they are in, or places of interest in each place she visits with a forum member, which are posted and shared on the AFISeries message board. <ref>http://afiseries.com/forums/index.php?s=cbec9244d9721e9c01b1398f7f44430b&showforum=29</ref> Myline has already been to many AFI concerts across the world. The turtle is only given to trusted members of the community. The turtle did not fall out of thin air, however. Myline is actually a symbol of the site's sponsorship to the World Wildlife Fund.

    Origin of Name

Myline's name comes from a misheard lyric from the song "...But Home is Nowhere" off of AFI 's sixth album, Sing The Sorrow.

The true lyric is "This is my line, this is eternal," but is misheard as "This is my line, this is a turtle."

    The Adventures of Myline

So far, Myline has been passed from fan to fan in all areas of the world, including Plymouth, Montréal, Toronto, New York, Arizona, Boston, Maryland, Oregon, Florida, Saline, and Sydney, and Ohio. The beloved turtle has met many members of the AFISeries message board, as well as other various fans of other communities, and has met the members of AFI and their trusty crew on multiple occassions.

Myline is also featured on AFI's DVD, I Heard A Voice, in the gallery section under the Extras. Myline is in a picture taken after a show in Montreal in 2006 with board member xSTELLA, Hunter, and his good luck charm "Wolfie".
