A Hard New Life is Hilary Duff's third studio album. The theme of this album is based around things that Hilary can do now that she is 18. The follow up of Most Wanted is entirely written by Hilary Duff and boyfriend Joel Madden, with help from his brother Benji Madden. The album carries 17 songs, just as the her self-titled sophomore album did. Sources say that the newest single will be "A Hard New Life" or "Take Your Time".

The album is expected to be be released September 22, 2006. The single released is expected to either be "A Hard New Life" or "Take Your Time".
