A Heartache Remembered's first EP,
Trials and Tribulations of a Perilous Mind, was recorded as a trio in the loft of
Newman Studios in late November of 2007.
With Mitch Leitschuh on percussion, Kyle Cronin on bass and Josh Saxe on banjo/guitar, these rare tracks show the beginnings of a monumental Powerpop/Progressive group's struggle towards local and digital stardom.
With a nearly 4 month hiatus, Mitch Leitschuh was hard at work in the makings of what would later be known as
Cry On My Shoulder.
Kyle Cronin had taken the time off to exploit his solo career in both Newb Pwning and Buying Rush Albums.
Josh Saxe's whereabouts were sketchy, although evidence shows traces of a solo project that was recorded on his MacBook were found by investigators.
Saxe has neither confirmed or denied this project's existence.
As the band started to talk again, Mike Lombardo was promptly added to the group, throwing the band into a creative spiral.
Diligently, A Heartache Remembered took to
Newman Studios to start recording their 2nd, and later breakthrough, digital EP.
"Cry On My Shoulder and Other Love Songs EP"
The former trio became a powerful quartet that swept the local music scene and "took
Parkway South High School by storm".
Songs like
Fried exposed a new edge that the band had searched for since its original digital release.
Then, on February 19th, 2008,
Cry On My Shoulder and Other Love Songs was released, putting Heartache on top of the Powepop/Progressive music scene at their high school.
Along with many appearances at various concerts, including
Dufffest and
Livestockfestapaloozaroo Aid '08, Heartache became writing machines.
Shortly after the release of
Cry On My Shoulder and Other Love Songs, work on a new EP was already in the works.
Josh Saxe is quoted in saying, "With
'Origami Guitar' came stress and hardship.
It was also our greatest work to date."
And it was just that.
Origami Guitar became the "next step" for Heartache, with touching up-tempo love songs such as
The Way She Shakes Her Head to the rock odyssey
Moving To Deeper Levels.
The completion of the digital EP was extremely long due to distress and work scheduling.
The release of
Moving To Deeper Levels has "...been a relief to the band.
Mitch almost took his own life." says Saxe.
To break the tensions during recording, acoustic sessions were held and recorded in the
Brown Room, a self-run studio that was established by Leitschuh and Lombardo to "give a change in environment."
It was here that
Heartache: Uncorded was recorded.
Although it's release date is not finalized, the band hopes to have it released before July 1st.
