Aadu Kalam is a Tamil language film set to be released in April 2010. It stars Dhanush in the lead role. The film is currently in its production stage. Sun pictures have acquired this film.

Development

The film was previously christened as Seval, however was replaced after finding out that another film directed by hari and starring Bharath had registered the title. Early indications suggest that the film could be based upon a true story which occurred in Madurai in the 1970s.

Casting

Following the success of Polladhavan, the entire team barring the heroine decided to come together for the second time. Despite early indications that Nayantara would be playing the heroine, Trisha Krishnan was roped into portray the lead female role, her first project with Dhanush. She later pulled out due to her commitments in Bollywood and was replaced by Tapasee, a debutant.[1]
