Aakar is an endeavour to nurture the genius of every individual. It strives at complimenting curriculum with a host of fascinating short-term courses, workshops, educational products and performance analysis systems. These services and products are developed to expose children to a host of interesting and unconventional disciplines in varied fields. Aakar strives at providing an enjoyable and self involving methodology to enhance both curriculum based and co-curricular learning.
Services and products by Aakar allow children to choose what to learn and involve them in a process of experiential learning. They focus at providing a platform for students where they can experience their education, learn about new fields and experiment with novel ideas. Aakar is not just about introducing interesting disciplines to students. The idea also lays emphasis on bettering their analytical abilities and making them better and more socially conscious decision makers.

The methodology followed at Aakar is constructive and hands-on. This methodology takes into account the learning pattern of every individual student. Every activity has something or the other that would suit a student’s learning pattern and hence help them learn faster and retain longer.

Aakar takes the help of in-house developed games, video–clips, cartoon movies, comics, audio-visual tools, model building exercises, case studies and interactive projects to involve the child in a process of assisted self learning. There is a central focus on fun and enjoyability in the entire process. The teacher plays the role of a facilitator of ideas rather than the source of information in all these courses.

When did the organization Aakar came up? And who are it founders?

How it was initiated?

What was initiated as a college room discussion took shape as Aakar Knowledge Solutions. Three already placed yet confused final year IIT Bombay students and a couple of juniors sharing a similar line of thought criticised the education system - no holds barred. Effectively laying the blame of their confused state of minds onto a system that spanned 22 good years of their lives. The next day - Aakar was born. It was decided that improvements need not come all at once - professional approach and a new thought process was what was needed at every level within the education system coupled with all the noble sentiments. Since conceptualization, Aakar has been born and reborn time and again - trying to establish itself as pioneer and propagator of positive change. Education too after all has it's stakeholders - and creating a value for every single one of them is the bottom line.

Initially started off the block in October 2005, with Kunal and Rohit coming together to start work, later joined by Saurabh in January 2006, the company was registered as a pvt. Ltd. in April 2006. From an ad-hoc initialization, within a short span of 1 year, Aakar has a 12 member strong team that consults institutions and individuals, takes up technology integration and designs a whole lot of content - keeping one thing in mind - Let people recognise their abilities and discover for themselves what they are capable of.

Right from the very beginning, Aakar has lived up to its philosophy and belief of Experiential Learning and has recognised the need of respecting different individual learning patterns. Something that is reinforced within every team member day in and day out through our vision and mission.


So who are these three IITians?
Rohit Jain - Managing Director
B. Tech, IIT Bombay
A workaholic at best and a 'sleepaholic' at worst - he is the 'Man with a vision'. His knack of thinking big (that often borders on being gigantic) is often jittery for everyone else. This said, he is the one man who has a never say die attitude to go with taking success and failures both in his stride. Rohit has had some extraordinary experience in writing software codes in his stint with IBM post IIT - however, writing codes could never reach the horizon of his vision and hence Aakar was born. He has his own grudges with Aakar too - why did I not have Aakar when I was in school - he often questions? But then, it does take a ' Man with a vision' to conceptualize Aakar!

Kunal Sharma - Director (Products and Services)

A glib talker and an inspirational thinker - he is the kind one would love to have in a company whose vision is identified in the spheres of education. Aakar is his brain child and every product or service that Aakar has provided has first stood the test of his visionary eyes and an extremely analytical mind. His ability to relate the most obscure of topics with an important matter in a way that makes you believe your life is dependent on it - has often left people wondering, gasping and thinking at the same time. His experience as a course facilitator at Career Launcher and first hand experience of the plight of modern day students with the current educational setups have been a prime factor in the shaping of Aakar. And then there is this divine philosophy that he lives by - 'Enjoy life to the extreme - everything else is just a passing thought!'

Saurabh Saxena - Director (Marketing and Communications)
B. Tech, M. Tech, IIT Bombay
Hard working, intelligent, creative and excellent communicator, which is Saurabh. A voracious reader and a great speaker, he acts as mentor to many people of his age and sets a great example for people who are younger. He gained valuable experience in Intellectual Property Rights while working with Nishith Desai Associates for the early part of his career and later moved on to core technology with Halliburton Energy Services. He quit to join hands with Rohit and Kunal and take Aakar forward in its mission. He is a leader with the ability to continuously motivate team members. Always wearing a smile and believing in the age old adage ‘you should always smile your way to success. In the end everything will be right and if it is not right, it is obviously not the end.’
