Aaron Rostenbach Boone (born January 13, 1978 in Provo, Utah) is an Arena football Wide Receiver / Defensive Back for the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2003, by the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Kentucky.


High school years

High School: Played 1993-95 at Millard HS in Fillmore, Utah … Three-year letterman and two-year starter at quarterback … Led his team to a 10-2 record and Class AA state championship during his senior season … First-team all-state … Also played defensive end … Coached in high school by Frank Bramhall … Remarkable all-around athlete as an all-state honoree in three sports, including baseball and basketball … Two-year all-state honoree in baseball as a shortstop and pitcher, helping his team to a state championship during his sophomore season … Played forward in basketball … Graduated in the top 20 in his class … Student Body President, Vice-President of his Sophomore and Junior classes … Member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club.

College career

University of Kentucky as a senior, he led the team in all receiving catagories with 41 receptions for 706 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the nation in Receptions-to-Touchdowns ration (minimum of 10 touchdowns) with 4:1. He also tied for the most receiving touchdowns in the SEC. He graduated with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Spanish.

1999 (Redshirt Freshman): Snagged 33 passes for 645 yards, a 19.5-yard average per reception, and six TDs at Snow College … It was his first season as a receiver after having played quarterback during high school

1997-98: Fulfilled a two-year Mormon mission in Peru. 1996: Enrolled at Snow in the fall of 1996 and redshirted as a freshman quarterback before beginning his church mission.

Professional career


National Football League / NFL Europe (2003 - 2005)

Boone went unselected in the 2003 NFL Draft despite leading (tied) the SEC (Southeastern Conference)in touchdowns and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. Signed with the Chicago Bears in 2004. In 2004, he was allocated to NFL Europe and selected by the Berlin Thunder. He finished the season first in the league in Touchdown-to-Catch Ratio, and ranked third with four receiving touchdowns. He won World Bowl XII. In 2005 he signed with the Carolina Panthers and was again allocated to NFL Europe . He played in 10 regular season games for the Thunder and led the league in receptions with 43, ranked second in touchdowns with five, second in yards with 582, and fifth in points scored with 30. He also led the league with 13.5 total tackles on special teams and helped the team to a birth into World Bowl XIII. After the NFL Europe season, he returned and spent time with the Carolina Panthers.

Arena Football League (2006 - present)

In 2006, Boone joined the Philadelphia Soul, however, he was later traded to the Kansas City Brigade where he was named to the AFL All-Rookie team. He recorded 66 receptions for 748 yards and 19 touchdowns as a rookie in only 7 games.

In 2007, Boone signed with the Utah Blaze, where he played in only seven games, due to an early season ankle injury. For the season he recorded 32 receptions for 420 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2008, he bounced back playing in 16 games, and recorded 135 receptions (3rd in the AFL) for 1,526 yards (8th in the AFL) and 23 touchdowns.

Aaron graduated with a major in Business Management and a minor in Spanish and International Business … Fluent in Spanish and also speaks some Chinese … Spent two years in Peru on Church Mission and six weeks studying abroad in China while in Junior College.

In his free time, Boone enjoys eating, traveling, new business ventures, scuba diving, and ping-pong. His favorite sports team growing up was the Chicago Bears and his favorite athlete was Walter Payton. Boone is the sixth of 10 children.

Boone and his wife, Lindsay, and daughter Kaiya currently reside in Sandy, Utah.
