Aaruush is a
technical festival hosted by
SRM University, a private university located near
Chennai (formerly Madras), India.
Aaruush was held for the first time in the year 2007 with the intention of making it a yearly event.
One of the events at this fest is the "COLLOSEUM" in which the participant(s) have to make indigenous software that can run on standard platforms using set standard applications.
There is no restrictions imposed on creativity, i.e. softwares can be from any field.
All softwares come under the open source category.
Event Description:
The softwares submitted will all be licensed to the general public under the ‘GNU General Public License’.
Softwares will have to be confined to Windows XP, Red Hat 9.0, Sun Solaris 9 & 10, Ubuntu 7.10, Fedora 4.0
Participants(here onwards developers) will have to use any of the following applications only: .Net framework 2.0, 3.0, Tomcat, MySQL 5.0, Java Vm 1.5.0 with J2EE support, Apache, JavaServer 3.
Extra (bonus) points will be rewarded to developers who provide multiple versions of their software to suit different platforms.
