Abandoned: adj. Deserted, forsaken, or recklessly unrestrained.

Abandoned Realms is a highly modified DIKU mud in which roleplay is enforced and player versus player combat(known as PVP, playerkilling or "pk") is strongly encouraged. The current Immortal staff has dedicated themselves to creating the richest and most balanced system of interaction and combat that can also be easily adapted to by new players.

Assistance for New Players

  • Extended help file system that is constantly monitored and updated by the staff.
  • A chat channel called Newbie, monitored by very friendly Immortals as well as any Cabal members - other players like you that have joined a faction.
  • Protection in town from aggressive attacks by other players, offered by Justice cabal members. Law and Order is strictly enforced within town limits.
  • Socializing and interaction with others is encouraged even from a game mechanics angle - gain optimal experience and faster ranking through hunting with others.
  • "PK Range" allows for more thorough balance. You will never be able to fight someone that you could not potential defeat.

  • What you'll find in the Abandoned Realms

Roleplaying is enforced, having memorable characters and interaction being the mainstay of the experience.

Although playerkilling is encouraged, there are countermeasures to protect against senseless slaughter. Brains will win over brawn, because nobody likes boring hack and slash.

There is also an automated quest system in which you can do tasks for many of the various NPC and creatures (MOBs) that will improve certain aspects of your character, and relinquish gold or items you would not otherwise be able to get.
