Abbie Richardson is a minor character in the Sweet Valley High book series.

Character

Abbie was originally a popular student and a close friend of Jessica Wakefield when they were freshmen. However, when she began dating a boy from another high school, she stopped seeing her friends, hanging out solely with her boyfriend and his friends.

When Abbie's boyfriend broke up with her two years later, she found herself completely friendless. She was a talented catoonist that's why she was encouraged to send some of her work to The Oracle (school paper). Before her cartoon was accepted Elizabeth offered her some help so most of the time Abbie was in thier house, with that she also became friends with Stephen, Elizabeth's older brother. That time Stephen was having trouble with his lovelife because he and Cara, one of Jessica's closest friend, were having problems. Stephen was receiving anonymous letters written in the same stationery that his former girl, Tricia Martin was using.(Tricia passed away due to luekemia) Stephen found a confidante with Abbie, he was able to tell her his problems which he can not do with his girlfriend nor the twins. One day as Abbie was waiting for Elizabeth, she was being accompanied by Stephen and he showed another anonymous letter that he received, Stephen had to go upstairs to get something so he left Abbie with the letter. At that moment Jessica went inside the house and saw Abbie with the letter. She was very angry with Abbie for this because she and Elizabeth were already suspicious with how things were going on with them (Abbie and Stephen). Jessica waited for Elizabeth in the porch and when she arrived they confronted Abbie with the letter, even Stephen who got confuis with the things going on thought that Abbie was really the one whose sending him the anonymous letters. Abbie was so upset when she leave the Wakefields household. Later that day Cara went into their house to talk to Stephen about their relationship. She told him that she was the one whose sending him the anonymous letters to add up some mystery with their relationship she said. Finding out the truth the Wakefield siblings were very worried with Abbie and so they decided to stop by her house together with Cara to straighten things out. They eventually became very good friends with her. =)
