From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abd al-Karīm ibn Hawāzin al-Qushayri (also Qushayri) (b. 986 Nishapur, Iran - d. 1074) was a Muslim philosopher. His major works included Rislāh, The Treatise on Sufism, also simply called The Qushayrian Treatise; and Lat'aif al-Ishārāt, Subtlest Indications. He was born near Nishapur, Iran during the Ghaznavid dynasty.[1]

According to Marshall G. S. Hodgson, al-Qushayri was a key figure in reconciling the Sunni Ulama with Sufism. [2]
