Abercrombie is a small township in Richland County, in the southeastern corner of North Dakota. Its population is 296 people. Its coordinates are: Latitude 46.42N & Longitude 96.72W, and its altitude is 936 feet.

  • Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site, 1/2 mile east of Abercrombie, tel: (701) 328-2666, (email: mailto:histsoc@state.nd.us), [1]. Open mid-May to mid-September, Thursday-Monday, from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. This was the the first United States military post in North Dakota. It was in use from 1857 to 1878.
