Ablutophobia (from Greek: ebliUt, ablute, meaning “to wash”) is the persistent, abnormal and unwarranted fear of bathing, washing, or cleaning. This phobia is a situational specific phobia. Ablutophobia tends to be more common in children and women than in men and especially with those people who are very emotional.[1]

Its symptoms and treatment are basically the same as for most specific phobias.

Ablutophobia, also known as Ablutal phobia is human fear of going into bath or washing (having a shower).

Ablution may refer to the practice of removing sins, diseases or earthly defilements through the use of ritual washing, or the practice of using ritual washing as one part of a ceremony to remove sin or disease.

Symptoms


People, who have ablutophobia are nervous and scared, when they see a bath filled with water or a shower, as they think it is prepared for bathing or having a shower.

Possible reasons


Reasons for being ablutophobic are not known good but they can come from memories if anybody survived an attempt of being sinked or even doing a suicide.
