El Cañuelo
The Fort San Felipe del Morro — or El Castillo San Felipe del Morro in Spanish— is a sixteenth-century citadel which lies on the northwestern-most point of the islet of San Juan.
Construction at El Morro started in 1539 and a tiny proto-fortress was "completed" in 1589, comprised of perhaps 10% of the structure people see today.
Many complex additional new structures were added to El Morro over the next 400 years.
In 1983, the fort was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations and is part of San Juan National Historic Site.
The Fort San Cristóbal - or El Castillo de San Cristóbal in Spanish - is the largest fortification built by the Spanish in the New World.
When it was finished in 1783 it covered about 27 acres of land, basically wrapping the city of San Juan.
Entry to the city was sealed by San Cristóbal's double gates.
After close to one hundred years of relative peace in the area, part of the fortification (about a third) was demolished in 1897 to help ease the flow of traffic in and out of the walled city.
It is part of San Juan National Historic Site.
The Fortín San Juan de la Cruz (Fort Saint John of the Cross), better known as El Cañuelo, is located on Isla de Cabras.
It is part of San Juan National Historic Site.
This fort was originally built in wood in 1610.
The fort played an important role during a Dutch attack to the island.
At that time it was burnt to ashes.
However, the Spaniards rebuilt it in the 1670s.
The Fortín de San Gerónimo del Boquerón is a small fort located in the entrance to what is known today as Condado, Puerto Rico lagoon in San Juan.
It was built during the 17th century to replace a smaller battery (called El Boquerón) that stood at the easternmost end of the San Juan islet.
The original Boquerón battery defended San Juan from attacks by Sir Francis Drake in 1595 and Sir George Clifford "Earl of Cumberland" in 1598 who destroyed it after his attack.
The San Gerónimo became part of San Juan's First Line of Defense, along with the San Antonio Fort/Bridge and Escambrón Fort, being the Fourth and final Line of Defense the majestic San Cristóbal Castle, guardian to the city entrance.

Mountains
Las Tetas de Cayey
Las Tetas De Cayey, also known as "Cerro Las Tetas" and "Cerro del Torito", are two mountain peaks in Salinas nicknamed so for their similarity to a woman's breasts (the word "tetas" is colloquial for "breasts" in Spanish).
They are located near the Monumento al Jíbaro Puertorriqueño statue which is found along Highway PR-52 which cuts across the island from north to south.
The town of Salinas took the town of Cayey to court over the location of "Las Tetas" and won, so "Las Tetas de Cayey" is now located within the municipality of Salinas.

Arecibo Radio Telescope
The Arecibo Observatory is a very sensitive radio telescope located approximately 9 miles (14 km) south-southwest from the town of Arecibo.
It is operated by Cornell University under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
The observatory's 305 m radio telescope is the largest single-aperture telescope (cf. multiple aperture telescope) ever constructed.
It carries out three major areas of research: radio astronomy, aeronomy and radar astronomy observations of solar system objects.
The telescope is visually distinctive and has been used in the filming of two notable motion pictures: as the villain's antenna in the James Bond movieGoldenEye and as itself in the film Contact.
The telescope received additional international recognition in 1999 when it began to collect data for the SETI@home project.
