Adam Pettet is a poet and author born in 1973. His first book, Melancholys Midnight Wanderings, was published in 1995. He has had his work published in many literary journals and magazines such as HQ Magazine in the United Kingdom, Going Down Swinging in Australia and Nth Position's "100 Poets Against the War". Along with Brently Frazer, he created Retort Magazine and "the Vision Area", which changed the face of Queensland, Australia poetry.

voices screaming in the yard
of a cottage on a hilltop
overlooking the bay.
mountains,
ocean views
and the rusted swings
blister the skin
of children in search
of laughter.
