Adam Thomas (born 1987 in Manchester, England).[1] He is a young British actor currently starring in Emmerdale as Adam Barton & well known for his role in BBC drama Waterloo Road as Donte Charles

Early life

Adam was born in Cheetham but grew up in Salford. He attended Mid Cheshire College. He has two brothers- one twin

Personal life

He is the younger brother of Ryan Thomas who gained fame as Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street. He has a twin brother Scott although they are not identical. He currently lives with his on-screen Emmerdale co-star Danny Miller who plays his character's best friend Aaron Livesy.[2]

Career

It was in 2002, at the age of 15, that Adam started his television career with a guest appearance on the BBC daytime soap opera Doctors. It was another four years before Adam would rise to fame in his breakthrough role as Donte Charles in the BBC drama series Waterloo Road of which he was an original cast member upon its inception in 2006.

The role of Donte led Adam to enjoy guest appearances in popular hospital drama Casualty in 2008 in which he played a boxer, as well as a second appearance in Doctors in 2007. He also appeared as himself on ITV gameshow All Star Family Fortunes alongside his older brother and fellow actor Ryan.

In early 2009 it was confirmed that Adam was to leave Waterloo Road at the end of the fourth series due to his character having finished his education at the fictional school. Adam's final episode was broadcast 20 May 2009.

Following his departure from his most famous role, Adam signed on for his third appearance on daytime soap Doctors, this time playing a character called Ben Hamilton. The episode aired on 26 May 2009. [3]

It was announced on 21 May 2009 that Adam had landed the role of Adam Barton on the long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale and would appear on screens from July 2009. [4]

Adam Thomas is the younger brother of Ryan Thomas, who portray's Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street. He currently stars in Waterloo Road as Donte Charles. Donte Charles is a distruptive pupil who likes to show off and make trouble. He has a weakness, his girlfriend Chlo Grainger.

Adam grew up in the Manchester town of Stockport. He went to The Kingsway School where he was notably popular with his fellow students. His older brother Ryan was also in attendance in his school years.

This Adam Thomas is not to be confused with the Adam "Potty" Thomas who attends Michigan State University. He is currently persuing a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. His major choice has been said to be ironic not only because he originally hails from Troy, Michigan - Which is quite well known for its urban atmosphere- but also because he is allergic to fish. Potty, who is also well known for his sensational political views, is an avid fisherman and hopes to attend graduate school to conduct research in the field.
