The Adataru Volcano, or Mount Adataru, is an active stratovolcano located in Honshu, Japan. It is located about 15 kilometers east of Fukushima City.

Accidents and Eruptions

In 1990, Adataru erupted, with little damage.

On September 15, 1997, four hikers died after falling into the caldera of Adataru. The public had already been warned of traveling near the volcano, as it is still showing signs of activity. These hikers probably died from inhilation of H2s at the bottom of the crater.
