Adem Alićević (born 8 July 1991 in Vlasenica, Bosnia & Herzegovina) is an Australian/Bosnian professional footballer (soccer) that is a striker who will join Denizlispor at the May 2010 summer transfer-window.

The Australian/Bosnian striker was born in Vlasenica, where unfortunately he could only call home for a short period. In 1992 when the Bosnian war had began and Adem was only twelve months old, his parents decided to move to a more secure location and continue their lives. Italy was one of many countries the Alićević family were about to call home. This is also the country Adem’s first sibling was born, his younger sister Adela. Three years in the Alićević’s had decided that their time in Italy was up and moved to neighbouring country Switzerland in order to get life back on track. This was to be the country Adem for the first time ever kicked a soccer ball. Adem also began his education in Switzerland which means he is now fluent in French. Moreover, he joined the youth side of Neuchâtel Xamax in the Swiss Super League. With the support of his mother he began to rise through the ranks very quickly. As his days went on he got better and better attracting the eyes of many. His mother quotes that, “Adem had definitely taken after the talented children I use to watch with my family during my summer holiday soccer tournaments in Yugoslavia”. The year 2001 was definitely what we can call the turning point in Adem Alićević’s career. Adem’s family had decided to move from Europe to Melbourne, Australia. This wasn’t known if it would effect Adem’s still to be discovered amazing soccer skills and talent negatively or positively. Overall the results of moving to Australia were satisfying. He continued his soccer career in Melbourne. Signed on with the Victorian Premier League side; Whittlesea Zebras FC. After appearing for three matches in the senior squad he was granted an Australian passport, which now meant that he was available to play for the Socceroos if called up, not only the Bosnian National Football Team. Finally, the Turkish Super League side Denizlispor sealed the deal of making Adem and his friend Osman Uyanık, both from Melbourne, apart of their team late December 2009. Together they will join the team soon as the summer 2010 transfer window opens. Adem will wear the jersey number 99 for Denizlispor.
