History



Adventure Games is the largest gaming store in NEPA, since it was opened in November of 2001.
It is located in Dickson City, PA, which is near Scranton, PA.
It started out as just a computer gaming, Collectible Card Games, Role-Playing Game and retail store.
But, since being open for 5 years, they have expanded quite a bit.
It now has 2 store fronts, and in addition to the previous mentioned activites, they have added a few things.
They now have a Dance Dance Revolution machine with a spacious lounge, a Console Theater, which is much like a home theater system in a large room, a private gaming room (for Dungeons and Dragons, etc...}, a karaoke room and many, many scheduled events.
The last Saturday of every month, they have an event called an All-Nighter.
Every other week, they have a group of miniature battle gamers come in, called The NEPA Table-Top Warlords.
They play varied miniature games and the store is full of people for these Saturday events.
They recently won 2 Best of NEPA awards.
One was for Best Place To Game, the other was Best Local Website.

About Adventure Games



Adventure Games is a fun, safe enviroment for people of all ages to enjoy.
It is a very large shop, and is right in the middle of Dickson City, PA, so if you're hungry, there's plenty of places to go.
There is a large, very diverse community of gamers and non-gamers alike.


In order to loiter at Adventure Games, you would need to purchase membership for the price of $10.00 per month.
When you purchase membership, you get 'membership perks'.

A 10% member discount on products (excluding food and beverages)

Retail Store



Adventure Games sells everything you need for role-playing games, from books to dice, miniatures to the paint you need to paint them.
They also are a hot spot for Magic: The Gathering cards and have thousands of cards in stock.
They also sell the rare Star Wars RPG miniatures from the original West End Games, along with Reaper Miniatures and other types as well.
They have everything you need for collectible card games as well.

Prices



1.
LAN:
  • $5.00 for one hour
  • $25.00 for 10 hours
  • $40.00 for 20 hours


    • 2.
    Console Theater:
  • $5.00 per hour for non-members
  • $4.00 per hour for members


    • 3.
    Dance Dance Revolution Machine is 75¢.
  • Every Wednesday, there is 50¢ DDR night.


    • 4.
    Membership is $10.00 per month.
  • If a locker is desired, that is an additional $5.00
  • If you are a full-time college student or if you are a Game Master at the store, your membership is $5.00

    Adventure Games also has a 10 computer LAN, with many, many games on it.
    This is in a comfortable enviroment in the main store front.
    They will be getting a new LAN in the later spring/early summer of 2007.


    Rules



    Rules of LAN use are as follows:
  • No Internet Browsing
  • *Does not include game related (FAQs, etc) webpages
  • No food at the LAN
  • No Pornography
  • You must pay before you use the LAN



    • Console Theater



    The Console Theater is two 85 sq.ft. gaming screens, and in the room itself, it has a Playstation 3, Wii Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, and Super Nintendo.
    You may bring your computer in the room, as well as your own systems and games.
    They have a selection of games for each system as well.
    It is able to be used as a movie theater as well.
    It has fiberoptic cabling, a Bose Corporation sound system and many places to sit down and play or watch.
    This is in the second store front, right near the Dance Dance Revolution lounge.

    All-Nighters



    The Adventure Games All-Nighters are an all night long event from 6PM to 9AM.
    The usual entry fee is $15.
    There are scheduled events all night long and they also get specialty drinks including Bawls, Jolt Cola, and various others.
    Some of these All-Nighters are also Holiday Events, such as Halloween partys.
