Over the years, Aerosmith have lent their name, their
image, their music, and oftentimes even themselves to significant
elements of pop culture. As they have come to
represent the authentic American rock n' roll band, they are often
used whenever a rock band or a rock song is desired for any type of
media. Aerosmith is also featured in a variety of media, from video
games to movies to roller-coasters. This has greatly contributed to
Aerosmith's fame, longevity, and recognition by even the youngest
of audiences. The following is a list of the many contributions
Aerosmith has given to pop culture.

in and was featured prominently in the 1993 film Wayne's World 2.
The band's live performances in the movie--"Dude (Looks Like a
Lady)" and "Shut Up and Dance"--are featured on the film's
soundtrack album.

The band contributed
two new songs ("What Kind of Love Are You On" and the #1

and two old classics ("Sweet Emotion" and "Come Together") to the
soundtrack to the 1998 blockbuster smash Armageddon,
which Tyler's daughter Liv starred in.

the commercial for the hockey movie, Miracle. It was
also played during the closing credits.
A rock band of elves
resembling Aerosmith is featured in the movie The
Polar Express performing a song called "Rockin' on Top of
the World." Steven Tyler sung the lyrics in the song, yet the rest
of the band was either not featured in the song or not given
credit, meaning it is likely one of Tyler's few solo works.
Steven Tyler also cameoed in the film Be Cool which stars John Travolta and
Uma Thurman. In
the film, Steven Tyler does a duo of "Cryin'" with upcoming singer
Linda Moon (played by Christina Milian)

cartoon television series on MTV.
In the mid 1990s, lead singer
Steven Tyler
was interviewed for a special on 20/20, discussing how he overcame drug addiction
in his life and how Aerosmith has risen back to success since
then.
Aerosmith provided the theme music for Spider-Man: The Animated
Series. When Peter Parker first dons on the symbiote costume, his first
costume change is to be "the lead singer of Aerosmith".

On" was the background track for Sportscenter's video retrospective of sports in
the 20th century played several times at the end of 1999.
In 2002, Aerosmith
was featured in a special 2-hour long episode of the popular
VH1 rock documentary series
Behind
the Music. Today, they are the only, or one of the only,
artists to have a 2 hour episode, as most Behind the
Musics are only 1 hour in length.
In 2006, Aerosmith
performed three songs with the Boston Pops Orchestra for the
city's annual July 4 celebration and fireworks spectacular which
was broadcast live nationally on CBS.

freedoms. It was released in its first form as an arcade
game.

In 1994, Aerosmith released the single
"Head First" for download on the internet. It is considered the
first full-length commercial entertainment product online.

starred in the comic book Shadowman #19 by Valiant Comics. In the
book, Master Darque creates a voodoo doll of Steven Tyler and trades
Jack Boniface (Shadowman) Tyler's soul for an as yet unnamed
favour.Steven J Massarsky, one of the original
co-owners of Voyager Communications, the parent company of
Valiant
Comics had strong connections to the music industry (for a time
he managed the Allman Brothers Band among others) and used these
connections to convince popular musicians to appear in
Valiant
Comics.
