ACS, Inc. (Affiliated Construction Services) is an international integrated design and construction services provider specializing in the delivery of complex facility solutions. Working in a variety of capacities, our qualified staff of engineering and construction specialists have specific expertise required to deliver value focused services.

The history of ACS dates back to 1927 when Flad Architects began providing architectural and engineering services to the local community of Madison, Wisconsin. As the firm grew and markets changed, Flad began focusing on technically complex facility projects throughout the United States. Changing market dynamics and client demand offered the organization the opportunity to spin off a separate organization focused solely on engineering, Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in 1978.

In the late 1980’s, two legacy clients of the organization, Harley-Davidson Motor Company and John Deere, requested the firms provide turnkey delivery of several complex projects under design. The organization discussed these opportunities with both clients, specifically requesting identification of the key services desired in a firm that specialized in providing integrated design and construction services.

Key components identified were an integrated delivery model, extension of staff services, open book cost accounting, single source project responsibility including commissioning, and most importantly, providing a team based environment where the client, the services provider, and all vendors are treated as partners. The organization then took the opportunity to create ACS to focus on delivering these integrated services.

ACS' loyalty and dedication has remained unchanged for over a decade; from the first test cell built in our own back yard to the international facilities we build today.
