Afraid of Monsters is a single-player
horrorHalf-Lifemodification that takes the player
through the shocking nightmares of a drug addict.
The mod is
split into two versions: an original, and a Director's Cut,
released in October 2007.
The game delves much deeper into the
realm of horror than most games, including triple-A titles. The
game's presentation is less generically "scary" than it is fully
shocking and disturbing; the enemies, levels, and sounds the player
faces can easily wither down a veteran horror game player.
