AionGuard is a video game currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Background and details

The game was first publicly announced in January 2009^[1] having already been in development for 2 years by Swedish developers Avalanche studios.^[2][3]

The game play was supposed to take place during the World War I era. However the theme does not fit the publishers' line up and was changed to that of a science fiction setting, subsequently to a fantasy setting when the sci-fi theme conflicted with another game in the publishers' portfolio. Avalanche studios later bought the rights to the game back from the publisher.^[2]
